hello,

it is very strange because when i make the same modification
haven't any problem like that...

I think the temperature inside de projector is too important...

Do you feel it is very hot when you touch it ?

regards,
Vincent

hi vincent, there is no problem with temperature, it is cold, it has no time to get hot:) it switches off itself just after  2-3 minutes ...
i think it could be a problem with lamp ballast,
i'll try with 1 external lamp....

ps: which pins are these?? i think 1 and 3, em i right??
http://img256.imageshack.us/my.php [...] agehx9.jpg

ps2: when i opened my original bulb it was exactly like this:

but i don't understand what is the problem in that post...

when the lamp burner starts to look like that, that's because it overheated very badly.

did you clean the inside of the pj ?

anyhow it's most likely related to heat...or the ballast that's starting to fail.

hi, i've cleaned inside projector, there was some dust but nothing important, however now cleaned;) (cleaned ballast too)

but the problem is still here:(

i'll  try to use the ballast to switch on an external lamp and see what it does...

the lamp led stay fixed on red,on the manual, it means it's a lamp problem, while if it blinks it should be an overhead problem...
i'm thinking too it could be the ballast saying me "goodbye" ! :)

Hallo shelver!
I had the same problem with my EMP-5000. This is caused, because ballast is no fully compatibility with BLV TopSpot.
After when the VP shouts down,You must turn off by take out the connector from the socket, wait about ten seconds and turn on again on light warm bulb.

MERRY CHRISTMAS FOR ALL!!!!

I have a astaire and he has working prefectly with a HQI-T G12 150W ,I think the ballast would be defective ...
(or maybe the bulb ??)

(sorry for the translation :( )

Hi.
So as I wrote above. After self tuned off the VP I hold out plug from socket and again turned on my projector.
It worked, because after second turned on (on warm bulb) projector never cross off :)
...Why? Maby it depends from current on cold and warm lamp, and ballast on cold lamp send to lamp too much current and read this as error.
Finally I sold this projector :)
