Hello to all d.i.y. Enthusiasts,
there is quite some time where i am reading the topics at the forums at Allinbox (with the help of Systran) and not only.
I must say, you guys have done a superb jab here. Keep on going!
So as a d.i.y guy i decided one day to proceed the construction of my own Projector.

Here are the materials most from Izzotek:

1) A complete light set for the RADIUM HRI 400W/D 5200K° FC2,
2) Borosillicone glass, Size : 125 x 217 x 5mm,
3) Uvliex Glass, Size : 217 x 125 x 4mm
4) Fresnels 240*180, Size : 240 x 180 x 4mm, Focale : 210/310mm
5) Varifocal lens : 275x320mm
6) Reflector 80mm
 7) Condenser 88.8mm
Also, a HAMI 9,2" 16:9 from ebay for 160 euro, 1=120mm fan, 4= 40mm fans, a transformer 220VAC – 12VDC/1.2A,  materials to construct the box like MDF.

Finally i have build the most of the PJ. The calibration is done with good results and the picture is clear while holding the lens with my hand for the tests (for the moment).

I have seen many pictures taken from other PJ projects at the forums with good bright white results using even less watt for the light source.
Thanks to you guys i have manage to remove the Antiglare filter from the screen with success.
In my case, while the light is bright from the bulb, after the TFT the light is a lot too dark.
The Hami seems to become darker after tuning to a station but not to all the stations at TV mode.
The same happens at the VGA input and at the VIDEO input.

If someone have any idea for that problem please help me out.
Thank you in advance!

hello wonderboy ;)

you issue seems to be special  :heink:
i've never saw this kind of problem but i think it could come from a bad model of you screen.

if i understand, you issue isn't a "black hole" cause from a too hot temperature... the brightness comes dark on the all screen and not localy ?

i think you avec a problem with the screen...
peraps you can see in the "on screen display" if you can increasse the brightness.
you can also test with the lastest driver of you graphic-card for the vga but i don't think is the main issue because you have the same with the tv mode.

TRADUCTION DU MESSAGE DE WONDERBOY:
This is the translated version of Wonderboy's question:

Merci d'avance

TRADUCTION DE LA REPONSE D'AKOIRIUM:
Translated version of Akoirium's answer

Salut Wonderboy !

Ton probleme a l'air special

Hello,

You should change your first message's title into a french one because I think there are many people on this forum who don't speak english.

For example: [QST] Problème de luminosité avec Hami 9,2"

And for your problem, like Akoirium, I think your screen isn't enough transparent.
Can you give us a link to see details on it please ?

Salut,

Thank you guys for your replay!
today i did the following test:
i took a sheet of A4 paper and placed in frond of the F1, turn on the HQI 400W and looked through the mirror. surprisingly the hami works perfectly well.
So i have come to a conclusion that the problem is either the bulb's direct heat of there is to much light and some haw there is a circuit at the Hami's brightness level control.
What can i do guys?
Oh...not to forget, i would like to share some photos of my project. How can i upload the pics?

hello

witch kind of power-balast have you ?
an electronic or iron-wired ?
if you have a iron-wired balast i think you have a problem af parasites with it.
you should try with an other one and other manufacturer.
but your issue is very strange ... we never seen things like that here as i know.

for your pics, you can use this link :

or an other like imageshack to upload your pics and post them on the forum ;)

hello again my friends,
ok finally my projector is done with good results.
The problem i was referring about the hami's brightness does not exists. My mistake!
I was looking for a screen material at the shops and i have found a place were same cinemas take there screen from there. The person told me about a white PVC  material which cinemas use as there screen, so i took about 1m just to run some tests.
It does work.
The brightness of the projected image and the colors are a fact. The same goes with the sharpness.
Now i want to test the all well known material from IKEA with the PVC and see the results.
Soon i will upload a series of photos with all the process.

At this point i would like to share with you all my experience removing the anti-glare filter from the screen.
It is indeed an easy process with the optimum results.
Just follow the on-picture(s) info.
CAUTION:
Remember, if you don't wont to destroy your screen, it takes patience!!!
When the time comes (after 4 hours), remove the anti glare filter very - very slowly!!!

As you can see the screen is perfectly clear from the anti-glare glue.

Lens tube construction.
Lens = varifocal 275-320F from izzotek.
For that i used a pluming tube of 100mm diameter for the outer tube and a 98mm diameter tube carrying the lens.

Ok guys, here it is,
the results taken from a SANYO 4.0 M pixel camera at auto focus.
The pictures have been resized at 20% but they are [AS IS].
In real life are much better but at list you can have an idea.
Projection's configuration:
PC-VGA connection at 800x600 res / full screen.
Pj to wall Distance: 230cm approximately.
Image at wall: 160cm x 90cm approximately.
Wall screen material: IKEA's TUPPLUR (window black light roller) 200cm x 195cm white color. Here at Greece the TUPPLUR cost about 45 Euro.
HAMI's configuration: brightness, contrast (see the note at the images).
